What if I tested positive to a TB skin test previously?
The Quantiferon TB Blood Test is useful for people who have tested positively on a TB skin test. Rather than getting a chest x-ray, you can use this test to differentiate between a false positive and a false negative skin test.
What do my Quantiferon TB Blood Test results mean?
A positive or indeterminate result typically means that you will need to get a chest x-ray to confirm that you do not have active tuberculosis. A negative result typically means that you will not need further imaging. To be sure, we recommend contacting the person or organization asking for the test.
If my QuantiFERON TB Blood Test is indeterminate, should I get another test?
Indeterminate results are highly infrequent but do occur. They occur even though the specimen has been handled properly. Unfortunately, we do not provide a free redraw if your result is indeterminate and you desire to get tested again.
Does every lab location perform the QuantiFERON TB Blood Test?
Most locations perform this test, but we do recommend that you contact your selected lab to confirm testing hours. Results typically take 3-4 days from the time the lab receives specimen from collection site.(typically 4-5 business days after collection)
An alternative to the tuberculin skin test (TST)
The QuantiFERON®-TB Gold In-Tube (QFT-G) is a blood test for use as an aid in diagnosing Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection (both latent tuberculosis infection and active tuberculosis disease).3 The test is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use with adult patients.

The emailed Lab Requisition will allow you to go to a local patient collection site to get tested. You will not have to pay any additional lab, collection or doctor's fees. Surprise Lab Test Requirement?...No Problem
LabReqs has really streamlined my employee credentialing process. Vendor credentialing in healthcare is a necessary evil, however not having to jump through multiple hoops just to get a lab order. I used to have field employees make a primary care doctor appointment just to get a lab test ordered, now I can have them ordered via LabReqs and now they just stop by a local LabCorp or Quest office almost anywhere in the U.S. get them drawn on the way to work versus taking a day off. The results are emailed directly to them to upload to the vendor credentialing agencies. This has saved my company lost time, my field employees frustrations, and overall my job as the credentialing administrator for my company easier.
